At Tshenolo Ash & Mineral Resources (TAMR), we transform coal ash and mineral waste into valuable resources, turning environmental challenges into sustainable opportunities.

SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION

Partnering with Eskom and technology provider Arc Innovations, TAMR leads the way in repurposing coal ash. By optimising the binding properties of fly ash, we create eco-friendly concrete products used in road stabilisation, sub-base, and ready-mix concrete. This process not only mitigates environmental contamination but also contributes to a circular economy.

OUR VISION: Eco-Impactful Difference

To contribute significantly towards environmental, social, and governance eco-transformation and sustainability.

OUR MISSION: Holistic Solutions

To beneficiate coal ash by turning it into construction and industrial materials, moving away from landfill and environmental contamination towards more holistic, profitable, and sustainable ways. This can make a real and lasting contribution to our built and natural environments.
Innovative solutions for sustainable growth

OUR APPROACH

TAMR beneficiates a minimum of 433,000 tonnes per annum of fly ash from Medupi Power Station, Lephalale.

By partnering with Arc Innovations, cement producers, and Eskom, we create alkali-activated concrete, offering a green alternative for various construction applications.

This approach turns a waste management problem into a solution for pressing infrastructure needs.
TRANSFORMING WASTE INTO RESOURCES

WHAT IS FLY ASH AND ITS BENEFITS

Fly ash, generated from Eskom’s coal-fired power stations, is a fine powder resulting from burnt pulverised coal. TAMR captures this ash using fabric filter bags or electrostatic precipitators, preventing environmental release and repurposing it into valuable construction materials. Its pozzolanic properties make it an excellent binder when mixed with lime and water, resembling Portland cement.

CONCLUSION

Tshenolo Ash & Mineral Resources is dedicated to sustainable transformation, turning waste into valuable construction materials that benefit both the environment and the economy. Through innovative partnerships and advanced processes, TAMR exemplifies how environmental challenges can be transformed into opportunities for growth and sustainability.
